Yesterday we voted for the third reading of the Tobacco and Vapes Bill which will now go to the Lords.
Every 7 minutes someone dies and 46 people are hospitalised hourly due to smoking.
This Bill will create the #smokefree generation we need and restrict vaping to over 18s.
366 cross-party MPs voted in favour of this vital legislation and some of the amendments voted through came through discussion on the Bill Committee I served on.
We picked up this legislation where it was left off after it was championed by Rishi Sunak in the last Government.
The detail
This Bill would make only those born before 1st Jan 2009 able to buy tobacco products which would mean those born after are #smokefree.
